Posted by admin in Detox Diet on September 18th, 2009
Natural detoxification can include doing steam baths, fasting, taking colon cleansing supplements along with a probiotic supplement. A natural detox will help aid the body’s detoxification systems known as the respiratory system, the gastrointestinal system, the urinary system, the lymphatic system, and those carried out by the skin such as sweat, tears, and the sebaceous glands. The body’s toxin levels should be kept at a minimum in order for the digestive system to effectively excrete the toxins through the pathways described above.
Natural detoxification will help keep the human body and their collections of complex systems maintain harmony and balance. The digestive system will absorb nutrients and break down toxins into less harmful substances that are later excreted through the stool and urine.
A high fiber diet, eating vegetables and fruits, and eating wholesome natural food is not the complete solution. The pollution we undergo everyday by inhaling toxins along with the preservatives and pesticides found in fruits can thwart the body’s function in eliminating toxins. These toxins can enter the bloodstream causing further damage to the body leading up to various health problems. The vegetables and fruits must be organic, the fibers must be low in starch and the quantity of protein we eat should be about the size of your palm.
Natural detox diets, ideally, should incorporate organic foods, because they are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and nutrients, all of which are vitally important for detoxification. A detoxification diet should also include water and fiber in adequate amounts, because these are necessary for eliminating toxins through the urine and stool.
A natural detox diet includes all types of seeds, vegetables, fruit, and fish, as long as they are fresh, canned in water, or are dried. Unsalted seeds and nuts should be eaten. It is recommended avoiding adding sugar to juices and drinks. It is also advised not to be involved in any other activity while eating. In other words, keep a time aside for your meals, and relax and have them, focusing on what you are eating. Give yourself enough time to chew the food properly before swallowing.
Some of the other natural detox methods are breathing techniques, fasting, exercise, and hydrotherapy.
